New Music for 2009

Well this month I have been quite busy, so I haven't posted much. Also I wrote a blog my second week into the year, but so many new artists were brought to my attention, that I just never got a chance to post it. So I'm going to post it here, and next Thursday I will get back on track and post a new blog.

Classic Rock recently(EDIT: It was recent at time of writing) provided me with a CD of 15 tracks of new music, they suggested for 2009. I've gave them all a listen, but I've only wrote a review on the first four, as I wasn't to impressed by the CD.

The Answer - Highwater or Hell
This Irish band are renowned for sounding like they came right out of the 1970's. Literally every aspect sounds "retro", from the Riffin' Guitarist and the wailing frontman. This for me is a pleasant Change, as frankly I'm am bored with the Rock music this generation are producing. Its nice to hear a rock band sing for a change. Anyway this song is a great wee listen, and doesnt diappoint me as a fan of Rock N Roll. I would suggest Listening to these guys.

Hell City Glamours - One Night Only
This is another produce off the Austrailian soils. This band follow the success off Airbourne. I hadn't heard off this band before this CD came my way. Honestly judging from this song, they aren't the band they wanna be. It sounds like they are trying to be a 70's Glam band, also judging from the name. They are prob gonna catch on the "newbies" to the Rock or Glam scene, and will hopefully be a gateway for young ones to a History off great music, I however would not mark them much as a band I plan to watch out for.

Bible of the Devil - Ol' Girl
Chicago based Rock band, that to me sound like they are inspired by the likes off Lynard Skynard. They have an interesting vocal sound, and was not what I was expecting from a band off this name. Again for anyone looking for a classic sounding rock act, I would suggest maybe checking this band out as they actually aren't bad. The song has some interesting Metal style guitar riffs. Obviously I'm judging these bands from the one song on the CD so do more research before taking my immediate advice. To those interested in Classic Rock check this band out.

Scott Weiland - Paralysis
Well Im assuming most people will know who this artist is. If not here is a little re-cap. Scott Weiland is the the Origional Vocalist for the Stone Temple Pilots, and again is recording with them. He also spent four years as the frontman for Super Group Velvet Revolver. During his time with VR he became a vocalist, whom I would have alot of Respect for. He has an energetic onstage personna, changing his vocal styling easily between tracks. So anyway this song is off his latest release, second solo Album, "Happy" In Galoshes. My immediate reaction was, it reminds me off David Bowie. Its got that kinda tinge to it. Vocally he doesnt disappoint. Its actually a really good track, and one I can imagine a few acoustic covers off. I'd advise checking it out. I have never listened to his solo work, but I will be doing further listening.
